Mapping Magnet Success: Moving From Action to Outcomes

The 2017 Magnet Schools Assistance (MSAP) Project Directors Meeting is a great opportunity for current and past MSAP grantees, the wider magnet school community, and other school choice and diversity experts to connect with colleagues, understand the big picture, and get inspired.

At this year’s Project Directors Meeting, you will collaborate with your colleagues to build upon current student assignment, transportation, and integration concepts and strategies that can be implemented in your district. Using content from these sessions and the jigsaw classroom technique, you will engage in intense small group discussions and workshops with experts and fellow participants to process the information and apply it to your magnet projects to get results.

At the start of the meeting, the U.S. Department of Education (ED) will introduce members of the new fiscal year (FY) 2017 MSAP cohort. This cohort will be the first operating under the new grant requirements, and flexibilities, such as the extended length of the grant and allowed spending on transportation.

Opportunities will also be available for you to interact and foster relationships with ED, staff, expert consultants, and fellow grantees.
